Concerning Hobbits
I'm a Lord of the Rings fan. I like hobbits and well written (and sometimes really really badly written) fan fiction. I also enjoy the occasional elf. I don't write any myself, as of yet, but I will one day, when I feel secure in my ability to do so.

Concerning Gaming
I used to play FFXI. My ex paid for the account though, and I'm too cheap to pay for it myself now. So, no more FF for me. I needed to get out of the house more anyway. Whatever.

I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about 5 years now. I don't care what you think of that, it's fun. I have been noted to enjoy other RP's, such as Iron Claw, although I admit to not being as well versed in these rules as I am with D&D.

I have a thing for Nintendo. I think they are the true name in gaming, and will always be number one in my mind. I don't dislike the other systems, I just like Ninty most. You can go ahead and laugh at me for that if you want, I'll just sic my goombas on you. I think that to be a true gamer, you have to own all the systems to have a well rounded opinion. Therefore, fan boys (or girls!) of any one system piss me off.

Although I do want to stab Microsoft in their collective eye.

Concerning Friending
When I first started this journal, I had no intention of ever locking any posts. But, things have changed regarding Real Life, and I now wish to not have random internet eyes reading about my boyfriend and I having wild sexual escapades. Ok, honestly, I don't give a shit, it's just people from 2600 keep googling my name and reading posts about me having crazy sex with him, and I don't think he likes it. :X So, I friends lock all my posts now as a default, pretty much. If you're here cos you googled me after you met me at a 2600 meet, seriously, you don't wanna read about how Battery likes it. So just go away. Really, that's all I talk about here; Lord of the Rings fan fic, and fucking Battery. So seriously, you're done here. :-)

If you see me on your list and don't know who I am, I probably read your fanfiction and like you, but I am too shy to talk to you. Or you have something in common with me and I would like to be your friend, but again, I am too shy to talk to you.

A New Addition to My Friending Policy:
Some of my friends in Real Life do not own LiveJournal accounts, and have no way of reading my friends-locked posts. I have sought to remedy this by making a generic account named

birdsfriends that they may log into to read with. If you are one of these people, and wish to read, IM me or email me and I will give you the password to the account so that you may read.

Concerning Other Fandoms
I enjoy the occasional Harry Potter fic, and I have been rumoured to like the books. I have also been rumoured to think the movies are sort of silly, but enjoy them once in a while.

I have a thing for Ewan Mcgregor and David Duchovny. A hot thing. Like a penis. But I'm a woman, so not.

I have been noted to enjoy teh Trek. Voyager and Next Gen, mostly. It's a big thing with me. Big Thing. (Read: Trekkie since I was a toddler; thanks a lot for that, Dad!)

I have now seen all of the Star Wars films, and I love them to death. I have been sucked in, and I think I can be called an official SW fan now. Go me.

I enjoy the Buffy. Except for Season 6.

I fucking love Mystery Science Theatre. I have managed to download a good 45% of all the episodes so far. If you're interested in trading sometime, hit me up.

I collect vintage cookbooks, ala Lileks.

I like Sliders, until Arturo died in Season 4. I didn't watch it much after that. And once Quinn left/turned into someone else/whatever, there just wasn't a frickin' point anymore.

I love Red vs Blue so much, you cannot possibly know the extent of my love. I wish to marry Caboose. Just lovelovelove so much.

Concerning Real Life
I live in Chicago, and I have a kick ass boyfriend, Chris, aka Battery, aka

cdf12345. I like sewing, cheesecake, D&D, curry, chocolate, MST3K, baking Nipple Cakes, thrift store shopping, everything Scottish, hobbits, and wasting my life away online.
